The Campsite Rule applies to everything and everyone.
I'm Dougald Lamont. I'm running to be the Leader of the Manitoba Liberal Party - for a simple reason.
For too long in Manitoba, life has been getting harder and harder for too many people. We need to change that, for this generation and the next. Whether it’s child poverty, inadequate housing, Lake Winnipeg's deterioration, or creating good jobs we’ve been headed in the wrong direction.
Turning it around will take a lot of work - and a lot of new ideas. But the basic idea of our campaign is simple. We call it “The Campsite Rule”, and it boils down to one simple principle: Leave things better than you found them.
My dad grew up on a farm near Headingley, and my family still has a farm south of Riding Mountain National Park. We’ve always understood: you have to take care of the land and leave it better than you found it. So that’s what “Our New Way” is about.
The Campsite Rule applies to everything and everyone - whether it’s reconciliation, jobs, health care education or the environment.
This all might sound sensible and obvious - but compared to what many governments have been doing, the Campsite Rule is radical. But it's #OurNewWay and we want you to be part of it.
What change do you want to see in your community? We would love to hear your suggestions!
